For most of my life as long as I can remember, I have been using & loving Apple products. Not to brag about having them but being an Apple Pro myself , Apple makes me feels the utmost elegance, exclusitivity and happy when I'm using any of my Apple devices whether its my iPhone, airPods or iPad. However , I never own or use a Mac before & never actually in a rush for it. Things absolutely change this year as my current laptop face few substantial issues like super lagging, inefficiency of usage and a continuously problematic trackpad. I strongly believe all of these problems are due to the underpowered old processor and too small 4GB memory RAM.
When I visit the Apple authorised store like somewhere early this year, I knew I just have to get and use this MacBook Air myself. Plus, Apple just release the brand new 2020 edition so I think its a pretty perfect time to change my lappie. But the main challenge is of course money and thus I start thinking and making plans about how I can save some money. Whilst, on the other hand, I deal with my mom about parent's sponsorships of course ... heheee.
I knew I have to work part time during this long semester ft. quarantine break because the 2020 MacBook Air costs an arm & a leg for sure. After deducting the RM400 student discount I will get through the Apple Education website ( Thanks Apple ^-^ ) , at least I still need around RM5K because I decided to opt for the upgraded i5 processor with 512 GB storage one rather than the basic i3 processor model because that suits me the most. Considering what I'm doing , my lifestyle + passion and my type of workload, everything , I knew I need to pick this middle 2020 Mac Air model.
After working part time for about two months plus, I manage to save RM1800 & alongside my KWSP Account 2 I-Lestari withdrawal (RM1000) & my pocket money savings (RM350) so I have saved a total of RM3150 in few months for the Macbook Air. I done my part, working & saving my ass off for it ... while my mom agreed to sponsor RM2000 for me. Finally, I purchased the Mac online on 28th September 2020 through Apple education website thus marking my first time getting my Apple products totally by online mean. Besides this is also my first time buying it directly from Apple official website or the Apple store. Unlike my previous devices, I got all of them at the local Apple authorised reseller store.
Waiting is a torture for me & not of my likings for sure. Due to the current pandemic situation, the Apple customer service hotline staff told me to expect a bit late shipment & delivery because there is a high demand for the Macbook around the world. Counting days to receive my Apple parcel , I knew I never been this excited, exhausted & stressed out of waiting for my online shopping parcel. My MacBook Air is shipped from Singapore & probably made in there too because there's Apple warehouse & official stores there.
After two weeks, the wait is finally overrr !
First impression of course will be, " its drop gorgeous ! & that's why I simple love Apple. " The colour is quite pinkish rather than pure gold but I'm okay with it. It resembles the rose
gold colour of my old iPhone SE. Its
solid & lightweight for a laptop but slightly heavier than what I expected.
For now I have to just explore the endless possibility it has to offer & keep on learning new ways or hacks on working with it. I truly loving my Mac Air & so far enjoy using it for my online classes, study, blogging, works, writing assignments, watching drama, Youtube & music . How extraordinary well & smooth it works with my iPhone is a miracle I always dream of !
